Remote Shack with Expert Remote
'all-in-one-place' practical setup guide
- save settings and reboot Mini-PC again
3.8 Now Mini-PC booted to installed firmware, and we entering in Expert Remote specific setup. For simplicity of this guide, we use "defailt EE subnet" 192.168.16.0 255.255.255.0, which is used in SunSDR. The below diagram demostrates how IP adresses will be configured in simplified minimal Expert Remote Shack setup:

- The Mini-PC ETH0 interface defined as WAN/Internet and we expect Provider to asign its IP automatically via DHCP.
- Interfaces ETH1-ETH3 united into switch group configured with IP 192.168.16.1 with mask 255.255.255.0 and this IP will serve as 'default gateway' for entire network equipment in Remote Sheck.
- Expert Starter (will be configured later) will have IP 192.168.16.2 with mask 255.255.255.0 and plugged to ETH1
- SDR will come with "factory default" IP 192.168.16.200 with mask 255.255.255.0 and plugged to ETH2
- ETH3 will remain "spare" and can be used either to ether connect laptop (when visiting Sheck), or any additional network-enabled equipment.
This network configuration is very simple and leave practically no chance for comon errors. If more complex IP addressing will be required at later stage - every shown component can be reconfigured accodingly.
At this stage the only outstanding is to assign each Mini-PC ETH port to its fucntion and configure ETH1 with proper IP. But first - login with username root and the password which you have entered earlier:
