4.2 Next goes the LAN configuration, making ports ETH1-ETH3 acting as switch ports. This configuration will eliminate the need to install separate hardware (network switch) for this basic (minimal) setup, covered by this guide: all present network equipment can be plugged directly into Mini-PC.

Important Note: this setup is valid for the minimal design and perfectly possible due to no heavy load on ports. The dominant traffic will be via SDR port ETH2; the Starter port ETH1 will handle light traffic from Starter and ETH3 is "spare" (i.e. no traffic). The Mini-PC CPU is sufficient to handle all this traffic with no issue.
If you going to use ETH3 in future, it is highly recommended to evaluate what traffic load will be introduced by connected equipment. If it will be, say, network enabled AC/DC power management device - it would be just fine, as there is no heavy traffic expected. However, if you consider to add another SDR to the current setup, then prior testing is recommended to ensure the combined traffic will not load CPU over 60%. The CPU load and overall system performance is dependend on Mini-PC model, and, of course, you have two options: you can plan higher load from start and get more powerfull Mini-PC model, or, alternatively, you can always add an external switch to the topology. Anyway, this is just a remark for the 'future considerations'.

Configuration of LAN bridge has to be completed in few sub-steps, due to it involves modification of current ETH1, which is currently used to access management UI. Note that the detailed configuration explanation is available via official Lan Bridge documentation; and the shortened step-by-step procedure is displayed below for your reference. It is important to keep the sequence of the steps, otherwise you may loose access to management UI completely (this would be unfortunate, as you will need to reconnect keyboard and monitor, perform default recovery and re-start Step 4 over).

4.2.1 Rename interfaces for consistency: go to Interfaces ‣ OPT1, add ETH2 to Description field and Save:

4.2.2 Repeat for Interfaces ‣ OPT2, add ETH3 to Description field and Save. Both interfaces now renamed (you will understand why it was needed after next steps)
